Acts of Kindness – Coker’s Finest at their Best

kindness2Good Morning, Would-Be Cookie Eaters,

I don’t have much time for early morning writing today, but I do have cookies in the oven, and I do have a friendly message I’d like to share.

The cookies are old-fashioned molasses crinkles, made with Grandma’s Old Fashioned Molasses (happy to report that I found another source in town), and my message is more of an invitation.

An article I read in Inside Higher Ed yesterday made me think of you, and so I hope you’ll read it.

The article is titled Kindness Is Possible, and it references a blog, Academic Kindness, that aims to “normalize” kindness in academic circles. I have only started following it, so I don’t know if I’ll enjoy the read, but I like the concept, and I am certain you’ll see your own stories in its mirror.

Talented bloggers may search as long as they like, but they won’t find a kinder bunch than we have at Coker College and in Hartsville, SC. It’s not puffery, just the old-fashioned truth.

Happy Friday.

Come and get ’em!
