This morning’s offering, Heath Bit Peanut Butter Cookies, is intended to remind you of some bits of information that are important to me.
First, tomorrow, beginning at 9 a.m. in Davidson Hall, our Coker Enactus team is hosting a meeting to learn and share insights about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It’s a free, informal, all-day event (lunch will be served at noon in the Drawing Room), and the students hope it will kick-start a long-term effort to reduce the suffering associated with this disorder. All are welcome.
Second, tomorrow afternoon our men’s basketball team will be face No. 3 seed Anderson (the Trojans) in the semifinals of the 2014 Food Lion SAC Men’s Basketball Tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Timmons Arena in Greenville, S.C.
Third, please reserve 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, March 15, on your calendar so that you’ll be able to join the fun at the annual oyster roast at Kalmia Gardens of Coker College. Tickets are $35. Please contact Mary Ridgeway, 843-383-8145, for more information.
Fourth, remember to poke around Coker’s online calendar to stay abreast of the neat things happening on campus every day.
Finally, please don’t forget to stop by for a cookie. They’re pretty good.
Come and get ’em.
P.S. In the interest of full disclosure, I’d like you to know that I modified the “official” recipe slightly. I added a couple of tablespoons of butter to the measure of shortening, and I rolled the dough in white sugar before I baked the cookies. Otherwise I tried to follow the rules as best I could.
